Why video links deserve a QR
Nobody types out a long YouTube URL by hand. Put a QR on the last slide of a lecture, a product manual, or an exhibition banner, and one scan opens the video or channel directly.
It works especially well for how-to videos, assembly instructions, and brand promo clips — content that's meant to just be watched.
Getting the video link
Under a YouTube video, click 'Share' to get a short link like https://youtu.be/videoID. Copy that link as-is.
To point to the whole channel, copy the channel home URL (https://youtube.com/@channelname) instead. A playlist link works the same way.
Creating the QR
In 'Create QR', paste the link as the URL type and the code generates instantly. Download SVG for print and PNG for screen sharing.
Adding a caption like 'Watch the video' via the frame feature noticeably raises scan rates.
Things to watch for
If you make the video private or delete it, the QR stops working — check the video's visibility before distributing printed material.
Reordering a playlist doesn't affect the QR, but if the link itself changes (video ID, channel name), you'll need to regenerate it.
